Sucker Punched!

I never thought in all my life that I would ever walk out of a movie way before it could even finish. I also never thought there could be such thing as the WORST movie. Sometimes people say movies are garbage but as long as there is some form of action or comedy then it can pass. Little did I know the movie “Sucker Punch” was all that and more. The head line on the poster was “You Will Be Unprepared” and let me tell you they weren’t lying! I’ve never even seen the preview for this movie but a friend of mine was so excited to see it and when he finally did his response was “do not waste your time or money to watch such garbage.” Instead of taking his advice my cousin wanted to find out for himself and I was forced to tag along. I’ve never seen a movie that made NO sense what so ever. The very beginning (let’s say the first 5-10 minutes) was pretty interesting and then it went down hill from there. We tried to give it several chances to make sense but then got too frustrated and we had to leave. I felt like my intelligence was insulted and if there’s anyone out there that can make sense of that movie I would LOVE to hear your views on the plot. I feel the person who created the movie was on drugs…SERIOUS drugs and they named it Sucker Punch because it suckered people with an interesting preview to get punched with a movie that was garbage. It was a nice way to collect money from people, we felt like asking for a refund. Two girls lose their mother and the younger of the 2 was about to be raped by the “priest” and the older one ends up killing the sister by accident while making an attempt to rescue her. The priest sends the older sister to a mental institute to make it seem like she purposely killed her sister. They give her a lobotomy and she ends up waking up to the same scene being acted out by other girls who are supposedly orphans in the mental institute. These girls are also dancers for the person who runs the institute. The newest girl (which is the sister who was recently admitted) has to dance to prove herself worthy. Every time she starts to dance she feels the music and closes her eyes…and this is where the movie goes down the drain. When she closes her eyes she ends up in a different world fighting monsters and people (some Tomb Raider type stuff) and by the time she opens her eyes she’s done dancing. I’m guessing what she does in the fighting scenes is her actual dance because you NEVER get to see her ACTUAL dance from the outside view. Then when she opens back her eyes she’s in the dance room and everyone is blown away by her incredible dance moves (the same moves WE don’t really see.) She teams up with the other girls to try to escape and they need key things such as a map, fire, knife, key, etc. to accomplish this mission. What pisses you off though is every time she dances and one of the girls are trying to steal one of the key items she ends up in this fighting war zone. If you’re not confused by now by the explanation that I’m giving then something is seriously wrong. The writer must’ve suffered from Alzheimer’s or some mental issues that kept confusing him in the writing process. If anyone tells you it’s a GREAT movie please slap them! Since we couldn’t waste anymore of our intelligence or time to sit through the other half of the movie to see if they made it I will be highly upset if they didn’t and there is a part 2. Approach this movie with caution better yet just pass it by and don’t pay it any attention.
