The Bombshell Chronicles

The Bombshell Chronicles is a compilation of the hottest fashions from indie & major designers, entertainment news and just anything that strikes an interest in my world. www.kmbombshell.com

If you haven’t been keeping up with all the commotion lately Beyonce was first called out for “jacking” an African group’s dance moves for her latest video “Who Run The World (Girls)”. When you look at the video it’s obvious and cannot be hidden. If you even pay attention to the video it even looks like 2 of the guys dancing with her are probably from the group that created the moves. (Go to youtube and search for: Beyonce Africa Call Out.)

People are creating a big commotion about it but it happens all the time especially in the industry. Artists get “inspired” from things they see the “little” people do and they put it out there, well because they can do that and they have money and if they do it then it will be “recognizable” by the “world” since of course they have a bigger fan base than the “local” people.

Now she’s being called out AGAIN for “jacking” her BMA (Billboard Music Award) performance. The concept behind the whole “screen interaction” was done by Lorella Cuccarini at the Sanremo Music Festival in Italy last year. Beyonce’ claims she didn’t “rip off” the star and once again explains “My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much, I then met with the talented people who worked on it. The technology and concept were so genius.Thank God for YouTube or I would have never been exposed to something so inspiring. I never worked so hard on anything in my life as that performance for the Billboard Awards.”

My thing is if you’re going to be “inspired” by someone else’s work then give credit where credit is due and don’t wait to be “figured out.” I would rather pull an Obama and put my dirt out there first just because I know you’re going to probably try and dig up stuff on me, so when you do everything that you “find” would have already been found and put out there by ME so you really wouldn’t have a “story”. None the less she’s Beyonce’ and she’s just awesome, right? So who cares if she gets “inspired” like the rest of us, right? And you already know people are going to say well hers was way better than the Italian lady anyway, right? Right. It all boils down to the morals and values behind the situation just in case some may wonder what’s the big deal. But then again we live in a society that really could care less about those things. It’s all about whatever will make me “successful” and if I can fake it til’ I make it then so be it, forget being “original” anymore.
